Volunteer Portal

Welcome to ASHI's Volunteer Portal where you can volunteer for projects that fit your interests, expertise, and schedule. ASHI offers a variety of ways to get involved, from short-term volunteer projects to committee, council, and board service. Technologists’ Mentor Program

This program pairs technologists with more experienced HLA professionals (Senior Technologist, Supervisors and Managers), or mentors, to share knowledge, experience, and advice with a less experienced person, or mentee.

Directors’ Mentor Program

This program pairs new Directors with more experienced Directors on an informal basis for the purpose of providing one-on-one guidance and advice to the newer Directors (mentees). An experienced Director will volunteer to serve as a mentor to a less experienced Director for at least a period of one year, during which time the mentor and mentee are encouraged to communicate on a monthly basis for discussions on mutually agreed topics.

ASHI Leadership Orientation

Whether you're thinking about joining an ASHI committee or already serving ASHI as a committee member, a committee chair, or a member of the Board of Directors, you’ll want to watch the ASHI Leadership Orientation. This webinar will give you background information on ASHI as an organization, as well as help you to prepare for your volunteer role. Having an organizational succession plan is essential for sustaining the level of activity within ASHI. We need volunteers from diverse backgrounds to bring a variety of perspectives to each of our programs and services. This webinar will focus on leadership by reviewing the responsibilities and expectations of your role so that you will be an active member of your group. We want to ensure that you feel empowered to be a positive and effective part of our Society. We're looking forward to helping you grow in your current position and are excited about the possibilities in store for you.
