The 2020 ASHI pt program

Laboratories participating in the 2020 PT Program can access important survey information including the 2020 Brochure and Shipping Schedule by visiting the Important Documents and Links section at the bottom of this page.

The ASHI PT program is designed to fully meet the latest ASHI standards for laboratory accreditation. The PT program utilizes clinically-based samples to assess a laboratory’s ability to accurately perform its analyses. All surveys are graded using established criteria with oversight by ASHl’s Proficiency Testing Committee.

ASHI is accepted by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) as an alternative proficiency testing program provider for the HLA Typing, HLA-B27 Detection, Engraftment Monitoring, and Antibody Screening/Identification and Crossmatching surveys. If your laboratory is accredited by CAP, ASHI is able to report your ASHI PT Survey Performance Reports directly to CAP.

Important reminders for 2020

HT/HTG modules

Laboratories who wish to purchase a second HT module from a different region/group can do so by purchasing 1 HT module and 1 HTG module. In contrast, ordering 2 HT will result in your laboratory receiving two sets of samples from the same region.

Ordering 1 HT module and 1 HTG module, however, allows your laboratory to receive an HT module from one group and a 2nd HT module from a different group. For laboratories ordering the HT/HTG modules who may want additional volume from the second group, an HTGS (supplemental module from the second group) is available for ordering.

Subscribers from each survey group will have the opportunity to utilize their own AC survey antibody results in conjunction with donor cell typing from another region/group (assigned by the PT Committee) to perform virtual crossmatch assessments that can be compared to actual crossmatch results from AC survey responses. Updated information will be provided in emails to AC survey participants.

for laboratories that do not perform crossmatching

If your laboratory does not perform crossmatching and you want to order the discounted AC module (serum samples only), you only need to select the AO (Antibody Only) discounted module since the AO module replaces the AC/AT ordering format used in prior years.
