In Memoriam - Clara Gorodezky, Prof. PhD, DSc.

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of longtime ASHI member and volunteer leader, Dr. Clara Gorodezky. Dr. Gorodezky was the Director of the Immunology and Immunogenetics Laboratories at Fundación Comparte Vida AC in Mexico City and made lasting contributions to our field.

“Clara was a dedicated leader in immunology and immunogenetics, passionate about advancing the field and improving lives. She cherished her work and found immense joy in mentoring and collaborating with her colleagues. Clara deeply loved her family, especially her dear husband Benito, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Her legacy as a scientist, mentor, and family member will forever inspire us all to strive for a better world.”

It's with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Dr. Sivadasan Kanangat on Friday, March 1, 2024. From Siva's colleagues at Rush University Medical Center:

"Sivadasan, or “SK” as some of you knew him, was a leader in histocompatibility and transplantation medicine who was passionate about mentoring students and clinicians who spent time in his laboratory. He enjoyed an almost 40-year career in science, and he really loved his job and working at Rush. 

Sivadasan was an accomplished researcher, clinician and teacher who dedicated time to advancing the careers of others. His family was a major focus in his life; he rejoiced in their personal and professional accomplishments. Sivadasan is greatly loved and survived by his wife and two adult children. They are so grateful for all the milestones they shared and will forever continue to honor his love for science and genuine desire to contribute to the betterment of this world and hope you will all do the same.
