Consistent with our commitment to invest in the future of HLA professionals, ASHI has consolidated the credentialing process of becoming a histocompatibility and immunogenetics Laboratory Director into a robust, integrated system. Our new system incorporates all components historically administered by the American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ABHI) and the ASHI Directors’ Training Review & Credentialing (DTRC) Committee into a clear pathway that eliminates duplication of processes. This approach addresses prior challenges such as those faced by international candidates as well as challenges faced by candidates with diverse backgrounds of training and experience. This is the vision behind establishing the American College of Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics (ACHI).
