HLA Sequences

Available Through the Anthony Nolan Research Institute

The WHO Committee for Nomenclature for Factors of the HLA System has since 1989 established a policy that, subject to conditions stated in the most recent Nomenclature Report, names for alleles will be assigned to new sequences as they are identified. Dr. Steven G.E. Marsh, at the Anthony Nolan Research Institute, has maintained the database and performed the work required to assign the names to the HLA alleles.

We are pleased to provide links both to the interactive IMGT/HLA database and to the static HLA alignments held on the Anthony Nolan Research Institute's web server. Both HLA class I and II sequences are available from these sites in a variety of formats including alignments, PIR, FASTA and MSF files. The sites are regularly updated every three months.
