ASHI News

Through its Public Policy Committee, ASHI is becoming an active participant in influencing national policymaking. The Public Policy Committee will provide information to Congress and key government officials about our society's views and positions as determined by the Public Policy Committee and Council. The Public Policy Committee will be the voice of the society and will vocalize the interests of its physicians, scientists, and technologist's involved in solid organ transplantation, histocompatibility and immuno- genetics in both clinical and research areas.  ASHI members will be kept abreast of the society's Washington effort through the President's Newsletter and broadcast email (the latter will be used to inform members of fast breaking news which might impact our discipline and when and where your input is being sought or your influence requested). Excerpts from the Newsletter will also be posted on our web page. These venues will serve as the communication forum from the Public Policy Committee and the ASHI President.
