ASHI members who are FOCIS members can join the new FOCIS Community of Practice (COP) groups. FOCIS COPs are a new initiative created to give FOCIS Member Societies, like ASHI, a voice in scientific programming and to facilitate interdisciplinary cross-talk between societies.

Benefits of belonging to a COP include:

Scientific Program Participation – COP members will have the opportunity to submit sessions for consideration by the Annual Meeting Scientific Program Committee. These sessions could also be considered for Member Society Symposia at the Annual Meeting to highlight participating societies. Full descriptions of the roles and responsibilities are included in the COP membership form.

Leadership Opportunities – Join a COP(s) before April 15 to be considered for a leadership role. Chairs of each of the COPs will serve on the FOCIS Annual Meeting Program Committee. There are also roles for vice chairs and early career members on each COP Leadership Committee.

Interdisciplinary Career Enhancement – Think outside of the box with colleagues from different, but related disciplines. Find faster pathways and solutions to the issues you face on a daily basis. The following COPs were created based on the interests of the FOCIS Member Societies. You may join one or more of the following communities:

· Allergy
· Immunology
· Neuroscience
· Laboratory Medicine/Environmental Sciences
· GI/Rheumatology/Dermatology
· Transplant/Genetics
· Cancer

COP participation is a benefit of FOCIS membership. For FOCIS membership information, click here.
