We airfuge all sera used in the flow crossmatch. In the early days of us running the test we evaluated airfuging and not airfuging. If I recall correctly, for some sera airfuging made a difference (reduced non-specific background), for others it didn’t make any difference. Unfortunately, there’s no way to tell ahead of time which sera will improve with airfuging, so we always do it.
We don’t airfuge sera for any test other than the flow crossmatch.
