HIGH THROUGHPUT BeadChip™ HLA GENOTYPING: ALLELE AND HAPLOTYPE FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTIONS.

We report the allele frequency distributions recorded by large-scale, high throughput analysis of class I loci in bone marrow donor samples. Using BioArray Solutions’ BeadChip protocol and automated allele assignment software, three technicians were able to type samples for A and B loci at a rate of over 2,000 per week, including allele assignments, on an 8-hour shift schedule. BioArray Solutions’ Automated Allele Assignment (AAA™) program provides an integrated software environment for automated and interactive analysis as well as data management including the tracking of allele and haplotype frequency distributions. We report the analysis of statistics based on several thousand donors of differing ethnicity.
